I have always had “something” for orchids but somehow have missed all the orchid shows in Ipoh all these while, except for plastic orchids and latex orchids. They aren’t the same as real flowers.
You can imagine my happiness when I chanced upon this orchid show at Dataran MBI, Ipoh. It is partially sponsored by the Orchid Society of Malaysia (OSM) and hosted by Perak Orchid Society (POS) and is one of the events held to mark 2011 Ipoh City Day.
Besides an orchid competition, there are sale of orchids, Bonsai, flowers, plants, fertilizers and everything else related to planting and gardening. I was only interested in taking photos of orchids, though, but it’s not as easy to shoot orchids as I thought!
We weren’t allowed to touch the flowers and I couldn’t make out the handwriting of the orchid species except for common orchid species like Phalaenopsis and foxtail, hence I have identify my photos by colour. Enjoy, nonetheless!
