Perak Thalassaemia Society Food Fair & Charity Sale
The Perak Thalassaemia Society organised a successful food and charity fair this morning. It was launched by the wife of Perak Menteri Besar, YAB Datin Seri DiRaja Saripah Zulkifli and supported by Baiduri, the Perak association of state assemblymen’s wives.
The Perak Thalassaemia Society, a non-profit organisation registered in 1993, is aimed at providing medical, financial, emotional and other forms of support to sufferers of Thalassaemia, an “inherited autosomal recessive blood disease”. At the same time, the Society strives to create awareness of the disease.
The smooth and effective running of the Perak Thalassaemia Society depends on funding from both the Government and the public. At this food fair and charity sale, it is hoped that funds could be raised to help achieve the aims of the Society.
Soon after the launch of the food fair and charity sale, the ladies from Baiduri, led by YAB Datin Seri DiRaja Saripah Zulkifli, took time to visit all the booths, providing moral support to the sponsors and at the same time, learning about new products in the market.
