Launching of Perak Cultural Fair

Formally known as Pesta Kebudayaan Sempena Hari Malaysia Peringkat Negeri Perak, the three-day Perak Cultural Fair hosted by Ipoh Parade in collaboration with several local non-governmental organisations was a 3-in-1 celebration: Merdeka (Independence Day), Malaysia Day and Mid-Autumn Festival.

Besides cultural performances of Chinese opera, cultural dances, silat, wushu, lion and dragon dance as well as other stage performances, a host of other activities was also held alongside this Fair.

In addition to lantern making competition, other contests that are organised during this Fair are Chinese Chess and sub-lantern making. Anyone who was interested in learning about the various cultures of Malaysia did so in a crash course over these three days, since 10th Sept.

Although most events were conducted and wrapped up over the weekend, exhibits remain in the mall until today. Exhibitions are of lanterns, photography, calligraphy and paintings.
