Media Night Hosted by Second Finance Minister YB Dato’ Seri Ahmad Husni
Members of the media fraternity, mainly from Ipoh, as well as other parts of Perak and Kuala Lumpur were treated to an evening of good food and fun by Malaysia’s Second Finance Minister YB Dato’ Seri Ahmad Husni Hanadzlah.
This is an annual event with the objective to foster closer ties with members of the press. Moreover, the Member of Parliament for Tambun is a Federal Minister and does not spend as much time in Ipoh as he would like to.
In his speech, Dato’ Seri Husni said that Malaysia is on track to achieve a high income status by 2020. He said, “We enjoyed an impressive 6% growth in 2014, so I believe that we are on the right track.”
Anyone who attends the media functions of Dato’ Seri Husni knows that there are plenty of lucky draw prizes to go around. True enough, everyone walked home with a prize; the difference was only the price tag. The grand prize was bagged by Ain from Bernama, who is based in Kuala Lumpur but was present in Ipoh to cover the installation of HRH Sultan of Perak.
At the event, YB Datuk Aminuddin bin Hanafiah, State Assembly person for Hulu Kinta, handed over a cash donation to T. Subramaniam, a reporter with Tamil Nesan based in Kampar, who had a leg amputated due to diabetes.
