Running on 3-day weekends from 16 October to 1 November 2026, the fifth edition of this homegrown horror event takes visitors into a world of mysterious beings, chilling storylines and unexpected encounters.

This year, the spotlight falls on Thailand’s rich supernatural folklore, brought to life through themed environments, developed storylines and live entertainment. Each attraction offers a different encounter, giving visitors plenty of reasons to scream their way through the park after dark.

8 Haunted Attractions to Explore

The main highlight of Sawadee Screamfest 5 is its lineup of eight haunted attractions, each with its own setting, storyline and atmosphere. From eerie railway journeys to supernatural chambers, visitors can expect different interpretations of horror as they make their way through the park.

The eight haunted attractions are:
1. Dead Man’s Rail
2. The Curse of Kong Koi
3. Tandas Phi Kee
4. Haunted Chambers featuring Hong Rai
5. Kra Hang’s Night Flight
6. The Susuk Chambers
7. The Eternal Theatre
8. Luminous Forest

Inspired by Thai folklore and supernatural beliefs, these attractions reimagine traditional tales for a contemporary theme park setting. Rather than simply retelling stories, they place visitors inside themed environments where the surroundings, characters, and unexpected encounters bring the narratives to life.

Across Southeast Asia, stories of spirits and the unexplained have long been part of regional folklore. Sawadee Screamfest 5 draws on this familiar cultural fascination while introducing visitors to distinctive Thai legends, supernatural characters and interpretations of the mysterious.

Whether you enjoy exploring haunted settings or prefer the thrill of not knowing what lies ahead, there are eight attractions to make your way through. The question is, how many can you brave?

More Than Just Haunted Houses

The screams do not stop at the eight haunted attractions. Visitors can also enjoy five selected theme park attractions and seven live show stages, adding more entertainment to the evening.

Selected attractions include Stormrider, Dragon Flights, Giddy Galleon, Perak Parade and Swan Lake. With rides, live entertainment and haunted experiences all part of the programme, visitors can make an evening of it rather than limiting their visit to the haunted houses.

Set against the park’s lush tropical surroundings and dramatic limestone formations, Screamfest brings a different atmosphere to Sunway Lost World Of Tambun after dark.

A Homegrown Horror Experience

Now in its fifth consecutive edition, Sawadee Screamfest marks five years of evolving horror experiences at Sunway Lost World Of Tambun. What makes the event particularly interesting is that it is conceptualised, developed and produced entirely by the park’s own team. From creative direction and storytelling to attraction design, production and execution, the team manages the process from the initial concept to the finished experience.

This in-house approach gives the team the flexibility to experiment with different themes, develop original concepts and adapt the storytelling to the destination. Each edition builds on previous experience while introducing fresh ideas to keep the event evolving.

As Mr Brian Francis, General Manager of Sunway Lost World Of Tambun, explained: “We want to be more than operators of attractions; we want to be creators of experiences.

“Screamfest gives our team the opportunity to take an idea from concept to reality, bringing together storytelling, creative design and production to create an experience that is uniquely our own.”

He added that drawing inspiration from different cultures and exploring new ways to bring stories to life allows the team to respond to visitor interests and create fresh reasons for people to discover its destinations.
