2015 MBI Press Nite
The fun-filled event where friends from the media were treated to dinner saw my friend Stanley Nelson from Astro Awani walking home with a Sony home theatre system worth RM500!
The press night by Ipoh City Council (MBI), hosted together with Impiana Hotel Ipoh and Perak Media Sports and Welfare Club, was to show appreciation to media friends for their hard work in providing coverage for the council throughout the year, and of course, to foster closer ties between the council and press.
Besides, it was the first “official” informal gathering with the press by Dato’ Harun Rawi since his appointment as Ipoh City Mayor, although he does allocate time for reporters after the council’s monthly full board meeting.
Also present were Council Secretary Mohd Zakuan Zakaria and representatives from various non-governmental organisations.
In addition to a scrumptious buffet dinner with grilled lamb, guests were entertained with song and dance, including performances by guest artiste, Fida, and participated in a lucky draw. Best Dressed Awards were also presented.
