A Legacy of Giving

Since its inception in 2017, IIFW has made significant contributions to healthcare through its charity gala dinners, raising over RM600,000 for Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun in previous years. In 2023 and 2024, the focus shifted to Hospital Seri Manjung, an institution facing increasing patient numbers due to the area’s rapid urbanisation. This year’s fundraising efforts garnered RM35,000, facilitating the purchase of:

Resmed Stellar 150 Asia Pac G2 (High-End Bi-Level Ventilator) (1 full set) RM21,000
Philips G30E Patient Monitor (1 unit) RM9,000
Terumo Terfusion Infusion Pump (1 set) RM4,300
Vista Plus Transilluminator (1 unit) RM700

Dr. Nordin Nasir, Director of Hospital Seri Manjung, expressed profound gratitude for these vital contributions, particularly highlighting the equipment’s role in enhancing paediatric care and reducing patient discomfort.

Addressing Challenges

While 2024 donations have been successfully fulfilled, issues from the 2023 handover remain unresolved. The NGO Sehati Perak, initially tasked with managing asset distribution, has delivered a Philips Intellivue X3 patient monitor worth RM35,000 thus far. The sum of RM11,183 is yet to be accounted for. IIFW’s leadership has openly apologised for the delays, urging Sehati Perak to finalise pending purchases promptly.

Collaboration and Gratitude

Evidently, this milestone was achieved with the support of various stakeholders, i.e. the Perak State Government, Tourism Perak Management Bhd., and corporate sponsors like Kuala Lumpur Kepong Berhad (KLK) and QIU (Qi group) since 2017, also Vale Malaysia. Special thanks also go to media partners and dedicated committee members who contributed to making IIFW Season 6.0 a landmark event.

Expanding the Mission

Beyond healthcare, IIFW also extended its commitment to conservation by adopting 148 mousedeers and 8 lesser mousedeers, further showcasing its multifaceted approach to societal betterment. Such efforts exemplify how fashion can serve as a catalyst for meaningful change.

Looking Ahead

As Louis Sebastian aptly summarised, “Fundraising is the gentle art of teaching the joy of giving.” With a vision to inspire future generations and a determination to overcome obstacles, IIFW continues to solidify its reputation as a marquee fashion event with a philanthropic core. The organisation remains steadfast in its mission to bring hope and support to those in need—one initiative at a time.
