Press Conference: International IPOH Fashion Week 3.0
It seemed like just yesterday that I attended the 2018 International IPOH Fashion Week at Syeun Hotel Ipoh, but the diligent Board Members of IIFW™, as is popularly called, are back! A press conference was held last Thursday to inform the public about plans for IIFW™ 2019, and details of the event.
This 3rd edition of IIFW™ 2019 will be held on 16th to 20th October, a much-anticipated fashion extravaganza of the year on Perak’s tourism calendar of events.
Her Royal Highness, Duli Yang Maha Mulia Permaisuri Zara Salim is expected to grace the gala dinner, which promises to be even more glitzy and glamorous than previous editions, with the participation of Radzuan Radziwill, Amanda Brown and other designers of their stature.
Guests can also expect to watch new designs from the UiTM team, the show stealer in 2018. For general information, this UiTM team was invited to participate in the Nepal International Fashion Week in Pokhara last month, which they successfully performed, with spontaneous applause from the appreciative audience.
Here is a low-down of the programme over 5 days.
– IIFW™ WORKSHOP will be held at Syeun Hotel Ipoh on 16th & 17th October, 2019.
– IIFW™ RED CARPET “Night of Glamour and Glitter” Fashion for Charity Gala Dinner will be held at the Ballroom, Syeun Hotel Ipoh on 18th October, 2019.
– IIFW™ Runway Fashion Showcase will feature Islamic Fashion and Modern Cultural Fashion (ready-to-wear), Street Wear and a Hair Avant-Garde, to be held at Ipoh Old Town on 19th October, 2019.
– IIFW™ will have its unique Closing Runway Pret-a-Porter (ready-to-wear), Casual Sport / Safari / Swimwear / Resort Theme Fashion Showcase on 20th October at Lost World of Tambun, Ipoh.
IIFW™ Adviser YABhg. Datin Seri Dr Nomee Ashikin has urged members of the public, especially corporations to lend their full support to the activity as part of our social responsibility effort. This event’s primary objective is to generate funds for Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun’s Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and shelter for the homeless & abused known as Rumah Teduhan Kelana.

By the way, at IIFW™ 2018, a total of RM40,000 was raised: RM30,000 worth of equipment was handed over to the Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), while RM10,000 cash was donated to Rumah Teduhan Kelana, Ipoh.
