IIFW™ ’18 Consign of Hospital Equipment Ceremony

It was mission accomplished for International IPOH Fashion Week (IIFW™ ’18) to “Save Tiny Babies” as the event successfully raised some RM53,000 for Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and Rumah Teduhan Kelana, a shelter for the homeless and abused in Ipoh.

This success was made possible thanks to the staunch support from the Perak state government, event partners and generous sponsors, who believed in the vision of IIFW™ founder-cum-CEO Mr. Louis Sebastian and his team. Following in the footsteps of the inaugural IIFW™ 2017, this year’s edition was indeed “Even Bigger” in line with its theme.

During the equipment consignment ceremony at Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun (HRPB) Ipoh two weeks ago, Sebastian said, “I’ve always believed in Perak’s most hospitable environment for creativity, a capital which is hungry to know what new voices are saying, but none of us could have imagined how strongly the response to the IIFW™ would prove it.

With the taglines ‘Perak to the World’ and ‘Welcoming the World to the Wonders of Perak’, IIFW™ Season 2 ‘Saving Tiny Babies’ has flourished organically, to become not only a forum for individual designers, but also an opportunity for young curators to set out how their generation sees things.”

Gracing the occasion was IIFW Adviser YBhg Datin Seri Dr Nomee Ashikin (wife of Menteri Besar Perak), who urged the people, especially the corporate sector, to lend their full support to the event as part of their social responsibility effort.

Consequently, the equipment donated to NICU from funds raised through IIFW ’18 were:

1) DRAGER ISOLETTE 8000 PLUS INCUBATOR (PREMIUM) – 1 UNIT

2) EMBRACE NEST STARTER PACK
(This package is able to warm 1 baby and an additional WarmPak™ is for rotation purposes)

3) EMBRACE NEST STARTER PACK
(This package is able to warm 2 babies and an additional WarmPak™ is for rotation purposes)

At the same ceremony, Kolej Komuniti Manjung also generously sponsored a hundred pairs of baby shoes to HRPB Ipoh.

IIFW™ ’18 may have wrapped up but let’s not stop giving back to the community in any way possible, big or small. May IIFW™ ’19 be “Even Better”.
