Style and Compassion To Take Centre Stage at International IPOH Fashion Week (IIFW) 5.0

Ipoh, the capital city of Perak, is excitedly awaiting the arrival of the 3-day International IPOH Fashion Week (IIFW), set to captivate with its exquisite blend of local and international fashion collections. The much-anticipated event, into its fifth edition, will run from 1st until 3rd December 2023. It has firmly established itself as a high point on the global fashion calendar.

Celebrating Style With a Difference
At the core of IIFW’s philosophy is the belief that fashion can serve a higher purpose, transcending aesthetics to make a difference in the lives of those in need. This fusion of glamour and goodwill sets IIFW apart from the typical fashion extravaganza.

A Glimpse of the Event
Day One of IIFW 5.0 opens with the “Royal Fashion with a Heart Charity Gala Dinner” at the Jubilee Ballroom of the Royal Perak Golf Club in Ipoh. Distinguished by a red carpet and black-tie dress code, the event draws a star-studded crowd, including Her Royal Highness Raja Permaisuri Perak Tuanku Zara Salim, members of the Perak Royal Family, foreign ambassadors, celebrities, and esteemed guests. The night will feature a special performance by the iconic legend, Datuk DJ Dave.

On Day Two, IIFW 5.0 will take high fashion to the streets of Ipoh’s iconic Old Town, transforming it into a “Street Fashion Runway.” Over 10 designers, both local and international, will present their creations amid the backdrop of the city’s historic pre-colonial shophouses and heritage buildings.

Day Three is the grand finale, for the first time, moving the show out of Ipoh, to Lumut Naval Town Waterfront Maritime. Alongside the runway, attendees will enjoy a picturesque sunset view, a brass band performance, a silat martial arts demonstration, and a captivating illuminated naval sailing ship display. This fashion showcase, with a special performance by Ayu Damit, is part of a 2-day carnival jointly organised by the Royal Malaysian Navy (TLDM), Manjung Municipal Council, together with IIFW.

An Emphasis on Giving Back
IIFW is not only about fashion; it’s about humanity. The event serves as a platform to generate funds for critically needed medical facilities that provide hope and support to children and their families facing medical challenges. Benefitting from the event are the Paediatric High Dependency Unit (PHDU) at Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun Ipoh and Hospital Seri Manjung.
