Hotel Excelsior Ramadhan Buffet Promotion
Ipoh’s pioneer star-rated hotel, Hotel Excelsior, will be serving traditional Malay dishes this coming month of Ramadhan at their Dulang Coffee House.
With the theme “Sajian Juadah Silam”, diners can expect to indulge in authentic “kampung” cooking, courtesy of the hotel’s Executive Chef Malik, who is a hands-on chef, and his dedicated team in the kitchen.
There will be eight sets of menus, to be served on rotation basis, with ten main courses daily. In total, we can expect almost 200 items served during the entire month!
In this post, I am not able to share photos of all the dishes with you, but I would like to share with you some of the chef’s signature dishes. They are rendang tok (beef), tandoori chicken, prawn curry, kambing masak hitam (lamb), itik rendang pedas (duck) and ketam assam pedas (crab).
Soups to look out for are sup ekor lembu and sup tulang rawan. As for desserts, part of the chef’s recommendations include pulut inti, cendol pulut, kuih-muih, pudding and agar-agar.
Action counters are also a feature of Hotel Excelsior’s Ramadhan buffet. Diners can try preparing their own assam laksa or prawn noodles. Besides these, other action stalls offer steamed fish and grilled items like prawns and lamb.
This month of Ramadhan, Dulang Coffee House resident band, Carnations, will perform live from 8pm daily. Featuring Ganeshan and Lin, they will be rendering a medley of slow Malay songs. Also expect soft Nasyid and keroncong.
This buka puasa (breaking of fast) buffet is available from 16th July to 7th August from 7pm to 10pm daily, at a price of RM39.99 nett per adult and RM25.99 nett (per child below 12 years old). The good news is that diners who reserve and pay for their dinner from 10th to 15th July will enjoy 10% discount. For reservations, call: 05-253 6666 (ext. 8514).
