A Masterclass in Culinary and Cultural Artistry

Beyond experiencing the martial arts and drum-beating traditions showcased at the venue, Martin Yan engaged in a lively culinary exchange with the kopitiam’s cooks. He demonstrated his mastery by analysing the unique roles of various kitchen knives used in Chinese cooking, explaining their importance in tasks such as cutting, chopping, and carving. With his trademark humour, he shared valuable cooking insights while promoting a “healthy and happy” philosophy for eating, winning enthusiastic applause from the audience.
