A total of 8 new Ipoh City Councillors were sworn into office yesterday, to join the other 17 Councillors who took their oath on 4th May.
Puan Puteri Holijah binti Muhamad Rali led the first batch while Dato ‘Haji Azizul Kama bin Abd Aziz led the second. The term of office as Ipoh City Councillors is from 1st May, 2020 until 30th April, 2021.
Four of the councillors are political appointees from Barisan Nasional (BN), while three are from Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM). Parti Islam Se-Malaysia (PAS) is represented by one member.
It is hoped that the appointment of the Councillors will serve as a liaison between the Ipoh City Council (Majlis Bandaraya Ipoh) and Ipoh residents, as well as to continue MBI’s excellent performance as one of the Best Local Authorities in Malaysia.
