MBI 2023 Assessment Tax Lucky Draw: RM76K Cash Up For Grabs

The Ipoh City Council (MBI) held the 2023 Assessment Tax Lucky Draw Session live via ‘Facebook’ at Dewan Azlan Shah, Ipoh City Council office on 5th April 2023.

Y. Bhg. Dato’ Rumaizi bin Baharin@Md Daud, the Mayor of Ipoh was present. It was also attended by Clr. Mr. Wong Kar Keat (MBI Clr Chief WHIP) and other city councillors, Council Secretary Tuan Ahmad Munir bin Ishak, Senior Directors, and Heads of Departments.

This year, the Council has offered 230 attractive prizes in the form of cash totaling RM76,000 to be won by lucky Ipoh property owners with the main prize worth RM20,000. This is the third year that the Council has offered cash prizes.

For early payers of the 2023 Assessment Tax who paid in full, the Council provided 30,000 mini bags printed with the MBI logo as appreciation.

Starting this year, the Council has also opened up participation opportunities to ALL payment channels, namely the Ipoh City Council Payment Counter, Post Office Counters, Perak Pihak Berkuasa tempatan (PBT) Counter as well as online payment, i.e. payment through the MBI Portal (d-mbi@ipoh), PBTPay, Jompay, including internet banking. For online payments and also through collection agents, a lucky draw slip will be automatically processed. This encourages property owners to make payments without having to make their way to the Ipoh City Council Payment Counter but still be able to participate in the Lucky Draw.

In 2023, a total of 141,283 bills were paid in full, which recorded an excess collection of RM34.16 million compared to the year before.

230 lucky winners were drawn on 5th April. 200 have won consolation prizes while the remaining 30 winners will participate in another lucky draw session, that will determine who wins the grand prize.

Y.Bhg. Dato’ Rumaizi expressed hope that Ipoh residents would carry out their responsibility in settling their assessment tax. He also wished for continued solid support for MBI in realising its aspiration to make Ipoh Bandaraya Bestari Sejahtera.
