Moo Moo Cows Spotted

May 24, 2010 Author: Emily | Filed under: Just For Fun, Photos - Panasonic Lumix DMC LX-3, Travel

Living in a city, people hardly the chance to see any animals. When I was in KL, I couldn’t see any birds besides those in KL Bird Park. Heck, I couldn’t even see a house lizard or a fly or mosquito. Maybe they have all migrated to Ipoh.

See the huge difference between a fake cow and a real cow. The fake cow was spotted outside Marché Restaurant at The Curve in Mutiara Damansara, Petaling Jaya near where the weekend flea market is.

Marché Restaurant The Curve

I have no idea what cuisine is served in Marché Restaurant though the menu looks like their specialty is potato but looking at the cow, I didn’t even bother to find out more. I don’t take beef, you see. And anyway, it’s not a good idea to dine at a place where I can’t even pronounce its name.

The funny thing was that quite a handful of people took photos with this cow. Whatever for? These are REAL cows and bulls, people! They make moo moo sounds and they stink. They move. They are not sterile like the cow props outside of Marché Restaurant.

Port Dickson

This photo was shot when we were on our way from Malacca to Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan (NS). It’s good not to use the highway sometimes. There are more things to see and experience.

Turned Turtle

My 9-day road trip was not that long ago but it already is a hazy memory in my mind. Sometimes, it feels like it’s just a figment of my imagination.

In fact, I only just returned home slightly more than a month ago and have been busy catching up with work all these while. Boy, am I longing for yet another trip. I wouldn’t say it’s “refreshing” because being on the road for so long can be tiring and I was actually sick the whole time I was on “holiday” but it sure is a good break away from the mundane life of daily living.

I saw this guy repairing the toy car with it turned upside down and I thought it was pretty amusing. At the same time, I thought that repair works like these should be done behind doors and not in public like this in full view of everyone, especially their customers.

Following this post, I will continue with other odd photos that I shot when I was travelling at the end of March. Stay tuned!

Clay Craft @ The Curve

My friend took me to The Curve one Sunday purposely to take a look at the “flea market” there. It’s not exactly “flea” market in the true sense of the word but more like a Sunday street fair without the clowns and balloons.

I wanted to go there or any other Sunday “flea” market at major shopping complexes in the capital city not to shop but to look at the wares for sale and the environment. I only had one Sunday in the capital city and my friend suggested The Curve so off we went.

When we were there, I spotted this business that sells clay and also offers clay art courses. They have a shop in the mall proper, I later found out, but I guess they rented a stall at the flea market because it’s Sunday and they expected more shoppers there.

I asked the girl manning the stall if I could take some photos and she didn’t mind. I am very impressed with the handiwork of students as you can see from these photos. They are very detailed and the bowls of food look so real! They look good enough to eat.

My friends later told me that the flea market in Amcrop Mall is more popular. Duh… must visit the next time I am in KL on a Sunday.
