Wang Fu Jing Night Food Market, Beijing, China

Just a short stroll from Wang Fu Jing, an upscale shopping district, Beijing’s answer to Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, is the Wang Fu Jing Night Food Market.
Although the stalls seem many at first glance, most of them offer the same types of food.
Unlike the typical pasar malam in Malaysia, this one only offers food, but from what I noticed, these foods were brought in from various parts of China, not only Beijing.
If you have the stomach for weird food such as spiders, centipedes and scorpions, Wang Fu Jing Night Food Market is not to be omitted when you are in Beijing, the capital city of China.
Tables and chairs are not provided, so, expect to eat while standing, or on the go. Worry not, as foods are packed in bowls or skewered on sticks.
Although one could see what food each stall sells by checking the signboard overhead, most are in Mandarin. Hard luck for those of us who can’t read it.
Wang Fu Jing Night Food Market is open nightly from 6pm to 9pm. It is a good distraction for those of us who do not have the budget for branded wares at Wang Fu Jing Shopping Street.
Despite being street hawkers, vendors are neatly dressed in red caps and aprons. They are difficult to miss.
