Art of Speed Malaysia 2026 Raises the Bar with Its Biggest Celebration Yet

Last weekend, the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS) was transformed into a vibrant playground where roaring engines, live music, artistic expression and passionate communities came together in one spectacular celebration.

On 1st and 2nd August 2026, Art of Speed Malaysia returned for its landmark 15th edition, proving once again why it has become Southeast Asia’s leading Kustom Kulture festival.

This year’s “Summer Festival – Kustom Bergaya” theme elevated the event to new heights, delivering an experience that appealed not only to petrolheads but also to families, music lovers, collectors, artists and anyone who appreciates creativity in its many forms.

Drawing thousands of visitors from Malaysia and overseas, the festival showcased how custom culture has evolved beyond modified vehicles into a thriving lifestyle movement.

Fifteen Years of Passion and Progress

Reaching its fifteenth anniversary is no small achievement. Since its humble beginnings, Art of Speed has grown into an internationally recognised platform where builders, designers and enthusiasts gather to celebrate originality and craftsmanship.

The festival has successfully built a bridge between Malaysia’s custom scene and the global Kustom Kulture community, earning the respect of industry veterans from around the world.

This year’s edition reflected that journey, welcoming renowned names from Japan, the United States, Australia, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Brunei, Taiwan and the Philippines.

Representatives from iconic brands including MOONEYES, Liberty Walk, Hawgholic, Vise Clothing, DicE Magazine and Hot Wheels mingled with local builders, creating an atmosphere where inspiration flowed as freely as conversation.

The presence of these international figures demonstrated just how far Art of Speed has come over the past decade and a half.

Machines That Tell Their Own Stories

Every custom vehicle has a story, and Art of Speed provided the perfect stage for those stories to be shared. From lovingly restored classics to radical one-off creations, visitors were treated to hundreds of remarkable machines showcasing extraordinary levels of skill and imagination.

Each motorcycle and automobile reflected countless hours of fabrication, engineering, paintwork and attention to detail.

Among the crowd favourites were a beautifully preserved 1945 Harley-Davidson Knucklehead brought in by Japan’s Hawgholic and a striking 1966 Harley-Davidson Shovelhead presented by Vise Clothing.

Equally captivating were specially curated custom cars from Thailand and Taiwan, while Liberty Walk’s unmistakable Japanese styling attracted admirers throughout the weekend.

Rather than simply displaying vehicles, exhibitors shared their passion, inspiring countless conversations among enthusiasts eager to learn about the craftsmanship behind each build.

A Festival Beyond Cars and Bikes

Although custom vehicles remain at the heart of Art of Speed, the festival has expanded into something much bigger.

Visitors discovered an event that blends automotive culture with fashion, music, art and lifestyle, creating an atmosphere unlike any traditional motor show.

Hall A featured themed exhibitions including Chopper Paradise, Pick-Up Line and an international showcase of modified vehicles.

Hall D embraced creative subcultures through vintage fashion, streetwear, custom bicycles, breakdancing competitions, rap battles and exclusive fashion presentations, offering visitors an entirely different perspective on modern Kustom Kulture.

The result was a festival where every hall had its own identity, ensuring there was always something new waiting around the next corner.

Six Stages, Endless Energy

One of the biggest attractions this year was the SoundCircus Festival, which brought live entertainment to every part of the venue.

Six stages hosted an impressive line-up of performers, creating an energetic soundtrack for the entire weekend.

Audiences enjoyed memorable performances by Ella alongside Cokelat, Sheila Majid, Nadin Amizah, Disagree, Johnny Pandora, Hari Slatan and many more.

Special anniversary performances celebrating Hujan’s 20th year and three decades of Asian Hardcore added nostalgic moments for long-time fans.

Perhaps the most talked-about feature was Asia’s first flying fox across a live concert audience. Festival-goers had the opportunity to glide above the crowd during performances, adding a thrilling twist that perfectly matched the festival’s adventurous spirit.

Support from the Ministry of Communications through MyCreative Ventures under the Concert and Events in Malaysia Incentive (CEMI) programme helped make the expanded music programme possible, further strengthening Malaysia’s creative industry.

Builders Compete for Top Honours

Competition has long been part of Art of Speed’s DNA, encouraging builders to continually raise their standards.
The Art of Speed Invitational Bike Build-Off returned with eight talented custom builders competing for recognition. After impressing both judges and the public, Mujo Joros claimed a remarkable double victory, winning both the Overall Jury Award and the Public Choice Award with a beautifully executed GPX Gentleman 200.

Across the festival, dozens of awards honoured excellence in custom cars, motorcycles and bicycles, recognising achievements in engineering, fabrication, design, paintwork and innovation.

The prestigious Best of Show Automobile title was awarded to Shaun Jonathan Pinto for his outstanding 1957 Porsche 356 Speedster Replica, earning him an opportunity to attend the 34th Annual MOONEYES Yokohama Hot Rod Custom Show in Japan.

Meanwhile, The Bangkok Boys took home Best of Show Motorcycle, cementing their place among the region’s finest builders.

A Paradise for Collectors

Collectors found plenty to celebrate at the fourth Official Hot Wheels Collectors Convention Malaysia.
Hall C became a bustling hub where enthusiasts browsed collector displays, exchanged stories, participated in community activities, and searched for rare additions to their collections.

The launch of the convention-exclusive Hot Wheels Custom Nissan Skyline GT-R V·Spec II (BNR34) proved especially popular. Featuring official Nissan licensing, authentic Motul and Yokohama graphics and individually numbered packaging, the limited-edition model quickly became one of the weekend’s hottest collectibles.

Visitors also had the chance to meet Ronald Wong, Lead Product Designer for the Hot Wheels Premium range, while the Malaysia Skyline Owners Group displayed an impressive collection of legendary Skyline GT-R models.

Exclusive die-cast releases from Kyosho × MOONEYES, Tarmac Works × RWB and Mini GT × Liberty Walk further delighted collectors throughout the weekend.

Something for Everyone

One reason for Art of Speed’s continued popularity is its ability to welcome visitors from all walks of life.
Families enjoyed the dedicated Kids Recreation Zone, while scooter enthusiasts gathered for the Santai Scooterist meet-up. Cycling enthusiasts took part in KL Orbits activities, and film fans visited Astro Shaw’s promotional showcase for the movie Terbang, complete with the film’s hero vehicle and meet-and-greet sessions.

Throughout the venue, visitors explored automotive flea markets, lifestyle retailers, sponsor exhibitions, motorcycle test rides, food vendors, live DJs and product demonstrations, making every visit a new adventure.

Winning More Than Memories

Returning for another year, the Kembara Passport challenge encouraged visitors to explore the festival while completing activities at participating booths.

Those who completed the passport stood a chance of winning prizes worth over RM80,000, including travel experiences, cameras, motorcycles and the grand prizes of a custom Thunder Motorcycle 250 and a specially modified Honda HR-V MK1 Japan Edition.

The programme added an element of exploration, encouraging visitors to experience every corner of the expansive festival grounds.

Discovering Selangor on the Open Road

Automotive passion also became a gateway to tourism through the launch of Tourscape @ Selangor by Tourism Selangor.

The initiative encourages motorists and riders to discover all 12 districts of Selangor using specially designed Road Trip Fun Maps that highlight attractions, local cuisine, heritage sites and authentic experiences.

The launch was officiated by Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari together with State Executive Councillor Dato’ Ng Suee Lim and Tourism Selangor Chief Executive Officer Chua Yee Ling, reflecting the growing connection between tourism and lifestyle events.

More Than a Festival

According to Festival Director Asep Ahmad Iskandar, Art of Speed’s continued success is built upon years of nurturing relationships with builders, artists, brands and enthusiasts around the world.

That philosophy was evident throughout this year’s event. Every exhibition hall, concert stage, competition and gathering reflected a community driven not by commercial interests alone, but by genuine passion for creativity.
