9) Penang Hop On Free Central Area Transit (CAT)
Penang’s free shuttle bus in the city called CAT, or Central Area Transit, is an awesome service for locals and visitors alike. This daily service plies from 6am onwards while the last bus for the day is 11.40pm.
Buses ply between Weld Quay (Pengkalan Weld) and KOMTAR at 20-minute intervals. Along this route, 19 stops are made for the convenience of passengers to access the grounds of the UNESCO World Heritage City, where major landmarks of Georgetown are located.
As the name of the service suggests, passengers are allowed to get on and off the bus at their desired stop, and all for free too!
