5) Penang Clan Jetties
Forming part of the Penang Heritage Trail in Georgetown, Penang Clan Jetties is made up of six clan jetties. As the last of the old Chinese settlements of this nature on Penang island, this community in Weld Quay (Pengkalan Weld) lives in houses on stilts.

Initially, there were seven clan jetties but one of them was razed by fire. Each jetty is named after a Chinese clan and Chew Jetty is the most popular and “developed” among them, with the largest number of stilt houses. Chew Jetty also boasts the longest walkway.

Visitors come by Penang Clan Jetties to check out the lifestyle of the community, and for photo-shooting.
