6) Little India, Penang
Penang’s Little India, although not as vibrant or colourful as the one in Singapore, covers a rectangular area, bordered by, among others, Beach Street, Lebuh Queen, Lebuh Chulia and Jalan Pasar (Market Street).
Sri Mahamariamman Temple, said to be Penang’s oldest Hindu temple, is located within this ethnic Indian enclave.
This is the area where one can easily get his dose of all things Southern Indian, from flower garlands to apparel, spices, grains and even Bollywood entertainment.
