Pasar Malam (Night Market) @ Medan Ipoh
I haven’t been to a night market for months already because I got bored with seeing the same wares for sale but I decided to make a trip to Medan Ipoh last evening because of the fine weather. I was not the only one who thought that it would be a good evening to while away at the night market, though, because there actually was a human-traffic jam!
Pasar malam Medan Ipoh has got to be one of the busiest night markets in Ipoh. I believe it has the highest number of vendors as well, though I may be wrong. In any case, it is possibly the longest; four rows of stalls on two streets stretching from the junction of Restaurant 1919 & Gallery (Jalan Medan Ipoh 6, Bandar Baru Medan Ipoh) facing the back of Tesco Hypermarket until the junction of Jalan Medan Ipoh 10 (Hot Traxx Cafe) and still further halfway around the bend and only stops at the back of Linggi Corner (restaurant) along Jalan Medan Ipoh 2.
After such a long time staying away from night markets, some new (and not-so-new) stuff caught my eye this time. Let’s continue with more photos…

Hi Sean,
This one is probably the largest, but I am not 100% sure.
As for which food, there are plenty of choices but best of all, they are all cheap so I think you can try them all without denting your pocket!
Enjoy!

I’m sorry I’m not able to answer your question. I suggest you come to Ipoh and have a look yourself and see what’s not yet available in Taiping. Good luck!

San San,
If you want a hotel that is near to pasar malam then it is The Regency Garden Hotel.
But the pasar malam here is on Tuesday evenings, provided the weather is fine.
For hotel near to train station but also within walking distance to town attractions like mall and eateries then you can try Syeun Hotel, Hotel Excelsior and Ipoh Downtown Hotel.
