There is a new hotel in Ipoh; official launching and opening ceremony by Menteri Besar Perak, Dato’ Seri Dr. Zambry Abdul Kadir is 16th December, 2010. I had the honour to preview the hotel this evening, before guests start coming in, and I am happy to share these photos on my blog.
By the way, the initials ‘DWJ’ stand for Datuk Wira Jamaluddin Abdul Rahim, the owner of this almost-budget hotel. I say “almost” because although the rates are very reasonable, guests can expect to find standard facilities in a 3-star hotel. I was told that safety boxes and cable TV will be installed soon.
Right now, what you can get is free wi-fi connection, 32″ widescreen LCD TV, writing table, seating unit and wardrobe in every room. I was definitely surprised by the wardrobe. It may be small but it’s definitely very useful and not something one could get from a hotel of this class. What’s missing is a cafe but then who needs one when there are so many food choices just a stone’s throw away from the hotel?
This is Datuk Wira Jamaluddin’s first hotel and it occupies part of Bangunan Jamal in Greentown Suria, Ipoh, just down the street from Restoran Simpang Tiga. Just for your information, Datuk Wira Jamaluddin’s flagship company is Syarikat Pembinaan Caj Maju Sdn. Bhd.
