“Mozart on Silk Road” by PSPA International Ensemble
Under the musical direction of Ipoh-born conductor, Eugene Pook, audience at PSPA’s 6th international ensemble entitled “Mozart On Silk Road” were taken on an enthralling musical journey from Turkey to Tibet, America and Persia.
Although there were slight changes to the original line-up of musicians as announced earlier, the orchestral concert was nonetheless captivating.
The international ensemble, with musicians from Canada and Taiwan alongside Malaysians, three of whom were originally from Ipoh, cleverly brought together an interesting fusion of East and West, a rare treat for music lovers in Ipoh.
The Perak Society of Performing Arts (PSPA) has made this concert available to Ipoh residents and given us an opportunity to enjoy music at an international level. This ensemble will perform at Sunway University on Aug 30 at 8pm.
