Malaysia Day Volkswagen Beetle Carnival

To celebrate Malaysia Day on September 16, property developer Andaman Group organised a Volkswagen Beetle Carnival.

This nation-building event was also to promote the group’s latest property development in Ipoh, named Upper East.

The event was held at the Sales Gallery of Upper East off Tiger Lane, just a stone’s throw away from the actual development site.

Although it was initially a gathering of Volkswagen Beetles, it eventually attracted other Volkswagen vehicles, some of which have been customised, reengineered and restored.

Local Volkswagen owners were joined by members of Kelab Volkswagen Beetle Malaysia (KVBM) who are mainly based in Kuala Lumpur.

Other Volkswagen vehicles showcased were GTI, Karmann Ghia and not forgetting, Kombi.

The vehicles competed for the People’s Choice Car Competition, based on how well the cars have been restored, maintained and decorated, as voted by visitors to the carnival.
