This year’s mid-autumn festival will be celebrated with a bang at Upper East @ Tiger Lane Sales Gallery in Ipoh.
While last year’s celebration wrapped up with a 17-minute amazing fireworks display, the organiser, property developer Andaman Group, has assured that this festivity would be twice as marvellous.
To be held on 26th September, 2015 from 6pm onwards, the evening promises to be filled with non-stop entertainment and performances possibly never seen before in Perak.
Ten spectacular stage shows have been lined up, including song presentation by the Boy Wonder Iqwal, acrobatic performance by Master Lee, illusion by Queen Sheba and saxophone-cum-harmonica show by Kif Valentine, among others.
Keeping in line with the theme of the occasion, a Chinese orchestra is included. As you can imagine, this is a golden opportunity for Ipoh folk to be entertained by performers of international standard.
One of the events that I must highlight is the crowning of Miss Andaman World. This hybrid beauty pageant is not a traditional contest as it will incorporate elements of show business in the entire selection process.
The pageant is a three-day event whereby the finalists will face the public and be adjudged the queen on 26th September. She will then represent Malaysia in the Miss Event World pageant, a world title to be hosted in Kuala Lumpur next year.
At this point in time, a total of RM100,000 in cash and worth of sponsored products are up for grabs, including endorsement deals, travel packages and beauty courses. For further information, either to participate or to collaborate, check out the Miss Event World Facebook Page.
The entire evening promises to be interesting and one-of-a-kind. It is open to everyone and admission is free-of-charge.
Additionally, registered guests will stand to win one of the 88 lucky draw prizes that are up for grabs, whereby the grand prize is a 4-day/3-night gourmet tour to Hong Kong and Macau for TWO with Jack Lim (林德荣) this November, worth RM20,000. Not that lucky? Never mind! I have been told that the rest of the prizes are worth at least RM50 each!
This year, the organiser is targetting a guest turnout of 5,000 people, an increase from the 3,000 people who attended last year. I have no doubt that Upper East @ Tiger Lane will be teeming with guests, and why not?
On the guest list are a good number of celebrities and household names. Don’t forget, Ipoh is the hometown of many a superstar such as Tan Sri Michelle Yeoh, Eric Moo, Chu Mimi, Angie Cheung and of course, Jack Lim too.
Apart from the above, there’s free-flow of mooncakes and free lanterns for children to participate in a lantern procession around the grounds of the sales gallery.
Andaman Group’s Upper East Mid-Autumn Festival Carnival will definitely be the talk of the town, like how the previous year’s celebration was.
This is a major initiative by the developer to brand and promote Ipoh as an up-and-coming important destination for tourism and real estate investment.
This is going to be a night of splendour. Mark your calendar. I already have!
