Ipoh Car-Free Day: Triple Themes of Ipoh City Day, Mother’s Day & Teachers’ Day
May’s Ipoh Car-Free Day was brought forward by a week due to Ramadan, which tentatively begins on 26th May.
Anyway, this month’s Car-Free Day had a triple theme to celebrate three special occasions: Ipoh City Day (27th May), Mother’s Day (14th May) and Teachers’ Day (16th May).
This 19th edition of Car-Free Day continued to attract the support of Ipoh residents and visitors, who took advantage of the car-less road to exercise and start adopting a healthy lifestyle.
Programmes lined up last Sunday morning included a fun walk, aerobics, yoga, boxing and cycling. Other side activities were children’s colouring contest and classic bicycle rally, among others.
The main objective of this Ipoh Car-Free Day campaign is to achieve a lower carbon footprint in the city.
Do take note that there will be no Ipoh Car-Free Day in the month of June due to Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration.
