An initiative by the pharmacy department of Perak State Health office to reduce the crowd at Perak government hospitals and klinik kesihatan (clinics), patients can now request to have their medication delivered to their preferred address by post.
This Ubat Melalui Pos (UMP) service is free-of-charge, except for the Poslaju fee of RM5.30 to be borne by the patient. This postage is to be paid to the postal staff upon delivery of the package at your stipulated address.
To utilise this service, patients are required to call up their regular hospital/clinic at least two weeks before due date to allow time for pharmacists to fulfil the prescription, mail out and also delivery by Pos Malaysia.
By the way, prescription is only for medicine in the form of pills and capsules. UMP is not available for liquid, vials or other forms.
