Bursa, Turkey Keen to Collaborate with Ipoh City Council
A delegation representing the Metropolitan Municipality Council of Bursa in Turkey (now known as Türkiye) paid a courtesy call to Ipoh City Mayor Y.Bhg. Dato’ Rumaizi bin Baharin@Md Daud at his office yesterday morning, 7th Oct 2022.

Turkish industrial machinery company, Orakçı Makina, Chief Executive Officer Mr. Ergün Şensoy as head of the delegation and Mr. Ceyhun Kan, the company’s Sales & Marketing Manager, conveyed their city’s interest to establish official relations with Ipoh via the formation of “Cities of Friendship”.
Bursa, a large city in northwest Turkey, is considering a wide scope of cooperation with Ipoh local council, viz., tourism, investment, and technology sharing.

Orakçı Makina had, in July 2022, supplied Ipoh City with two state-of-the-art garbage compactor trucks to improve the garbage collection operations in its vicinity.

Said Ipoh City Mayor Y.Bhg. Dato’ Rumaizi, “From a technical point of view, Turkey is ahead of us, so we are optimistic that technological sharing will have a positive impact on us. Additionally, we are looking forward to digital cooperation, in line with our vision to achieve Smart City status by 2030.”
