Announcement: Sharpened Word August 2019: Up Close and Personal with Malaysian Movie Directors

In conjunction with Merdeka celebration this August, Sharpened Word, in collaboration with PORT, presents Malaysian Movie Directors.

With the theme “Cinematic Contribution to Nation Building”, the event is a convening of Dr Razli Dalan, a UK-based movie specialist plus two other illustrious personalities: Al Jafree Md Yusop, multi-award winner screenwriter and movie director, alongside James Lee, Ipoh-born pioneer in indie digital video film-making who has earned international recognition.

Hassan Muthalib, the father of Malaysian animation industry, Merdeka Award recipient, will also grace this event. Pak Hassan is Sharpened Word adviser.

This event kicks off with movie screenings of the three directors on 23rd and 24th August, 2019 before the Dialogue on the second day.
