Hobbitoon Village, a New Attraction in Perak for VPY2024
Opened to the public on 1st January 2024 in time for the first day of Visit Perak Year 2024 campaign, Hobbitoon Village offers visitors an experience like no other, right out of The Shire from The Lord of the Rings, with charming round-door quaint cottages, scenic landscapes, and a themed cafe.
The Lord of the Rings (LOTR) is a high fantasy epic written by J.R.R. Tolkien, comprising three volumes: The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers, including The Return of the King. The story is set in Middle-earth, a fictional world populated by various races such as humans, elves, dwarves, hobbits, besides orcs.
The 7-acre “village”, with replica of Hobbit houses, is located at mid-point along the Ipoh – Cameron Highlands road, in Simpang Pulai, almost an hour’s drive away from Ipoh through winding roads. From Tanah Rata, Cameron Highlands in Pahang, Hobbitoon Village is also about an hour away.
At this point, Hobbitoon Village offers a magical escape for fans of The Lord of the Rings and travellers seeking a unique experience in Malaysia. It is more of a destination for photo opportunities and a Rest & Recreation spot – it would be great if accommodation is added to the attraction.
The Hobbitoon Cafe offers a variety of Western dishes and themed drinks, including the Dwarven Draught and Ogre Crush.
Admission to Hobbitoon Village is RM40 for adults and RM20 for children (5 to 12 years of age). The village is open daily from 9am until 6pm. View the full photo album on our official Facebook Page by clicking HERE.
