Announcement: Ipoh Parade Go Green 3 Campaign

In conjunction with Earth Day, which is observed annually on 22nd April, Ipoh Parade is helping the community to do its part in protecting the environment and keeping Mother Earth healthy.

To be hosted on 25th April, 2015, this campaign, for the third consecutive year, is to promote, encourage and foster an eco-friendly mentality.

The highlight of the day is the Recycling Craft Competition. With a technology theme, participants have to construct models and/or sculptures using recycled materials.

Entrants are divided into two age groups. Category A will be formed by secondary school students from 13 to 18 while Category B is open to college and university students from 19 to 23.

Only a maximum of eight teams will compete in each category, with up to five participants per team.

Another event that will certainly catch the interest of the public is the Go Green Fashion Show, sponsored by SUB Beauty. Also using recycled materials, models take to the catwalk in a fashion show to present “green” creative ideas.

Guest-of-honour Y.B. Dato’ Dr. Mah Hang Soon, Perak State Executive Councillor in charge of Public Transport, Health, Non Muslim Affairs and New Villages, will be launching the event and subsequently present the prizes to the winners of the Recycling Craft Competition.
