A Different Buka Puasa Experience @ Temptation Patisserie, Manhattan Hotel Ipoh

It had been a long while since there was a reason for me to head over to the other side of town: Pasir Puteh. Well, I was there last week to “buka puasa” at the café of the 2-year-old Manhattan Hotel Ipoh.

The hotel really stands out in the neighbourhood with its “New York theme” and its cosy café is popular among local families to break fast together.

During this Ramadan month, the café, named Temptation Patisserie, is offering fusion cuisine served in a bamboo platter to be shared by two or three diners, according to their requirements.

As you know, it’s the trend these days to break fast over a scrumptious array of buffet spread. However, Temptation Patisserie offers a different kind of experience, one that celebrates sharing as well as togetherness during this time of reflection, tolerance and thanksgiving.

There are five menus being offered on a rotating basis. Prepared under the guidance of Chef Azim, each platter consists of ulam-ulaman, kerabu, and two main courses of different combination, such as Daging Masak Hitam, Ikan Sambal Petai, and Nyonya Fried Chicken (Inchi Kabin).

Complementing this platter is a plate of rice and beverage for each diner, besides fruits and a variety of kuih muih for dessert.

For such a generous portion, the price per platter is only RM48, which works out to RM24 per person, one of the most budget-friendly buka puasa prices in a 3-star Ipoh hotel. Totally worth the price, I opine, as you enjoy the company of family or loved ones, in a cosy environment, at an Instagrammable hotel.
