Close to a thousand graduates from Institute Technology of Perak (ITP) and Perak College of Technology (KTP) received their scrolls on March 18 at Impiana Hotel Ipoh. The convocation honoured graduates from across all academic and non-academic (vocational) courses offered by these two institutions.
One of the star students was Seow Si Xiang, who graduated in Diploma in Computer Science with a CGPA of 3.91. He delightfully received his scroll from Y.T.M. Raja Dato’ Seri Eleena Binti Almarhum Sultan Azlan Muhibbuddin Shah Al-Maghfur-Lah, Chairperson, Perak College of Technology
He said, “Maintaining good relationship with the very helpful lecturers has greatly assisted me in my success today. My best memory of KTP as a student was my participation in cultural activities apart from academic related activity that has opened my mind as a Malaysian and be thankful for the abundance of cultural diversity that we have here, especially in Ipoh.”
Perak College of Technology was established almost 20 years ago. It is widely known for its Hospitality courses, Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia courses and UTM (University Technology Malaysia) as well as UiTM (University Technology Mara) collaboration courses. Growing from strength to strength, the college hosted 734 graduating students in its 7th annual convocation ceremony last year.
“We are so proud of what our students have accomplished and we are confident that the skills and education they obtained at Perak College of Technology will give them the foundation they need to be successful in their career and in life,” said Dr. Ahmat Zamri Bin Abdullah, the Chief Executive Officer.
“Our graduates are great examples of academic achievement in our community. This is their day to be recognised for their hard work and determination and we wish them all the best.”
