Midfielder Shahrun Abdullah’s late goal helped push Malaysia forward with a win against India with a score of 3-2.

Both Malaysia and India were hungry for a win in order to advance in the tournament but at the end of the day, it was Malaysia that emerged victorious.

Prior to the game, which was delayed by an hour due to thunderstorm, goalkeeper Kumar Subramiam was honoured with a memento for donning the Malaysian colours for his 250th time.

Head coach for India, Dutchman Paul van Ass did not think that his boys played too shabbily as they managed a 30% conversion rate. However, generally, scoring was low because of a few standing issues that had to be analysed and solved. They also had a poor start.
