Travelodge Ipoh Back in Business, Running Multiple Promos

After temporarily closing during the Movement Control Order (MCO), Ipoh’s first internationally-branded hotel is back in business, offering irresistible deals for guests. What are they? I will get down to them soon enough.

Located a short distance from the heart of the city, Travelodge Ipoh offers 268 newly refurbished guest rooms which are smartly appointed, well equipped with standard in-room facilities that provide added comfort and convenience. What guests can expect include in-room safety box, Satellite TV, complimentary high-speed WiFi, and more.

Guests can also enjoy amenities such as private parking, 24-hour reception, fitness centre, play area for children, prayer room (Surau), and the newly completed swimming pool. In addition is the self-service laundry – extremely important for long-stay guests!

Yup, a long stay wouldn’t even break your budget as the hotel is running a mega sale on rooms, at RM98 per night only. Not sure when you will be in Ipoh? No problem! Just secure your rooms NOW and stay later, as late as 31st March, 2021.

Potential customers would be delighted to know that Travelodge Ipoh has a suite of meeting and dining facilities. On the second floor is The Lodge, a multi-use communal and dining space. Those who take up the hotel’s Work From Hotel (WFH) promotion will be working here at The Lodge. The promotion, known as Wolk-At-Lodge, is priced at RM22 nett, valid until 31st December, 2020.

Available to use daily from 10am ’til 6pm, enjoy free flow of coffee, tea or cordial, plus get a RM10 rebate on an à la carte order at The Lodge on the same day.

On the topic of food, I had the pleasure to dine at The Lodge this afternoon, to savour their à la carte menu as well as their steamboat promotion that will be launched to the public this 18th November.

There are a total of 8 main courses on the à la carte menu.

1. Club Sandwich
Triple deck of chicken ham, tuna spread, sliced tomatoes, cucumber, cheddar cheese, fried egg & garden lettuces served on whole wheat or white bread.

2. Mee Goreng Mamak
Wok-fried yellow noodles in rich shrimp paste gravy, prawn fritters, hard bean diced and veggies.

3. Nasi Lemak Kukus
Rice cooked in screw-style pine leaf coconut milk accompanied with chicken rendang, anchovies, fried peanuts, cucumber and eggs.

4. Nasi Goreng Istimewa
Traditional kampung-style fried rice with fried egg, cracker, salad and fried chicken.

5. Fish & Chips
Crispy fried battered fish fillet, served with French fries, fresh garden salad and tartar sauce.

6. Comford Burger 
Choice of freshly ground air-flown beef or chicken grilled patty, embedded on sesame bun with onions, tomatoes, cucumber, fresh garden lettuce and topped with cheddar cheese sided with Garden Salad and French fries.

7. Chicken Rendang
Classic traditional-style chicken thigh cooked in a coconut base with aromatic spices, lemongrass and fresh chilli served with steamed rice plus acah jelatah.

8. Lamb Shank Rendang
Lamb foreshank slow braised in homemade rendang recipe served with steamed rice alongside acar jelatah.

All the above-mentioned items are priced at a pocket-friendly RM25 nett. The Lamb Shank Rendang, on the other hand, is RM59 nett.

The steamboat promotion, which kicks off on 18th November, is priced at RM68 nett per platter, recommended for two pax. There is a 30% discount on this steamboat set from now onwards, so don’t MISS THIS CHANCE!!

There are four soup base options: Penang White Curry, Penang Hokkien, Laksa and Chick Kut Teh. As you can imagine, these are all very flavourful soups that are quite uncommon for steamboat. Each platter consists of about 13 items, including prawns, fish fillet, chicken fillet, chicken balls, fried fish balls, chicken cocktails, 3 types of vegetables, 2 varieties of mushrooms, 2 kinds of noodles and 2 eggs.

I know many of my friends avoid dining at a hotel due to the perception that hotel meals are pricier, yet without the authenticity. Let me assure you that the culinary team of Travelodge Ipoh  has managed to bring the much-loved street food flavour to a cleaner and more comfortable ambience. And the servings come in generous portions too, as you can see. Two thumbs up from yours truly.

The Lodge is a pork-free eatery.
