The Haven’s Night Sky Gourmet Poon Choi Dinner
To usher in the New Year, what better way is there than to dine on the rooftop of the clubhouse of a five-star resort, amidst a natural prehistoric setting, feasting on a time-honoured communal dish, Poon Choi (in Cantonese), that is fit for an emperor?
From Jan 8 to Feb 22, The Haven Luxury Resort is offering this traditional luscious one-pot Chinese dish, or Big Bowl Feast; a special meal where all dishes are served in just one large bowl (or platter).
The Haven’s Poon Choi is made up of 17 specially selected array of fresh ingredients, prepared without preservatives, monosodium glutamate (MSG) or artificial additives.
Ingredients in the Poon Choi set are: sea cucumber, mushroom, lantern bladder, scallop, Chinese dried scallop, smoked duck, abalone, prawn, goose feet, fish fillet, carrot, white radish, yam, Chinese cabbage, dried bean curd stick, chicken and lastly, broccoli.
This Poon Choi set is part of the full dinner menu which includes garlic rice, Hong Kong kailan (vegetables) plus a dessert of red bean soup with glutinous rice balls and Chinese pastry.
Named “Night Sky Gourmet Poon Choi Dinner” because of the exceptional experience of dining under the stars (weather and guest preference permitting), and overlooking The Haven’s calm lake, it will definitely be a new experience for many.
What’s even more special is that members of today’s modern multi-racial and cultural families can all join in for the meaningful Chinese New Year reunion dinner because The Haven’s Cuisines (restaurant) which is in charge of this Poon Choi dinner is Halal-certified.
Although residents and guests of The Haven can just dine on this Poon Choi set (RM988+ for 8 to 10 pax or RM498+ for 4 to 5 pax), this Poon Choi set is also available to the public if they take up one of two packages: RM2,488+ for 8 to 10 pax or RM1,288+ for 4 to 5 pax, inclusive of a night’s accommodation at the 2 + 1 Lakeview Superior Suite.
