Creative Latin Dance Academy New Year Dinner & Dance
Amateur dancers took to the floor to showcase their Latin dancing skills and moves to an appreciative crowd of supporters.
The New Year Dinner and Dance was hosted by Creative Latin Dance Academy for the second consecutive year.
Creative Latin Dance Academy, known as CLDA in short, was founded by Tan Cheng Lee (Jenny), or CL Tan among friends.
If you hadn’t noticed yet, the name of her academy is a clever play on her initials. CLDA is located in Taman Pengkalan Puteri and was established in August, 2014.
CL Tan began teaching about five years ago after learning Latin dances for more than ten years.
Currently, CLDA has about 80 dance students. Additionally, CL Tan is engaged to conduct classes at a dance studio in Sungai Siput.
Well-versed in Latin dances, CL Tan teaches Latin dance, Ballroom dance, Social dance, Dance fitness, and conducts classes for children, juniors, adults and also seniors.
She also holds private lessons, competition and performance, as well as dance for events and functions.
During the function, CL Tan took the opportunity to thank those who have been supportive of her new career, especially her dance instructors Susan Ting and Mike Tham, as well as her image consultant Carman Loh.
Student dancers of CLDA were joined in by counterparts from various other dance academies to present a series of Latin dance moves, from Cha Cha to Jive, Samba, Rumba and more.
They also showed their versatility by presenting other genres of dance such as Chinese, Indian and even to the catchy beat of PSY’s Daddy, a current top K-pop track.
The dinner show was not only an opportunity for these dancers to showcase their dance skills but also a great platform for them to build up their self-confidence.
It was certainly a great preparation for them should they participate in dance competitions in the future.
The high energy evening wrapped up with a fitness dance, a positive New Year message for us to lead a brand new lifestyle.
