Taman Tamadun Islam, Pulau Wan Man, Kuala Terengganu
My previous visit to Taman Tamadun Islam, in English, Islamic Heritage Park or Islamic Civilisation Park, was more than six months ago.
I remember I was ill during that trip, and then a sudden thunderstorm cut short our visit. Hence, I was glad to be able to come by again for a second time, to better enjoy the attractions that are in this unique park, located on Pulau Wan Man (Wan Man Island), in Kuala Terengganu, Terengganu.
The Monument Park located in Taman Tamadun Islam is a world class theme park that glorifies Islamic civilisation around the globe. Here, you can find replicas of 22 timeless Islamic monuments, and also Islamic history, culture and arts.
This edutainment park offers guided tours on buggy or tram, and I would say, having an experienced guide is really helpful when going around the Park, especially for first time visitors.
One of the biggest attractions at this Islamic Civilisation Park is the Crystal Mosque, one of the most beautiful mosques in the world, the only mosque built from steel and glass. Its unique combination of materials gives the building a crystal-like resonance.
Obviously, Taman Tamadun Islam is more than just mosques, replica or otherwise. Facilities offered within the park include a convention centre, guest houses, restaurant, bazaar (Arcade Terengganu), children’s playground (Warrior Park) and river cruise.
