Symphony Suites Hotel Official Opening
Symphony Suites Hotel’s official opening was attended by the who’s who of Ipoh. Graced and officiated by Ipoh City Mayor Dato’ Hj. Roshidi Hj. Hashim, the hotel had a soft launch ceremony in June, this year.
According to the Mayor, there are already more than thirty hotels in Ipoh, with at least a 3-star rating. At the speed hotels are mushrooming here, there better be more tourists heading this way to support the hospitality industry, especially since 2014 is Visit Malaysia Year.
In his speech, Symphony Suites Hotel Managing Director Mr. Lee Chee Ming said that the catalyst for tourism in Perak is a duty-free shopping complex within the city. As a frequent traveller, I can’t agree more that it makes a lot of sense to have duty-free shopping in the city. I definitely do not fancy shopping while waiting for my flight, after I have checked in my luggage.
Besides the official ceremonies which included ribbon-cutting, signing of the plaque by Ipoh City Mayor, and the lion dance, the approximately 500 guests were treated to a sumptuous dinner. They were also entertained by an interesting array of singing and dancing performances, as well as face mask changing by top performer, George Wong.

This hotel is built with large suites and cozy environment, to cater for business-class travellers like me.
I remember the Mayor once said that the architecture of Symphony Suites is comparable to Shanghai’s Grand Mercure.
