Hosted on 15th April 2025 at the Perak Tourism Office in Ipoh, the event, in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidilfitri, brought together key players from across the tourism landscape from government agencies to corporate partners, local communities, and media friends.

Together, they celebrated the milestones achieved and the teamwork that made it all possible.

Breaking Records: 10.2 Million Local Visitors and Nearly 1 Million International Guests

In his speech, Perak Tourism Exco YB Loh Sze Yee thanked everyone for their unwavering support throughout VPY2024.

The campaign didn’t just meet its goals. It soared past them, attracting 10.2 million domestic tourists and 940,938 international visitors.

The numbers spoke volumes about how far Perak has outstood as a tourism powerhouse.

Key contributors to this success were the districts of Kinta, Manjung, plus Larut, Matang and Selama, all packed with attractions that continue to captivate travellers.

A Round of Applause for the Tourism Heroes

The campaign’s achievement wouldn’t have been possible without the joint effort of numerous corporations, non-governmental organisations, agencies and individuals.

Kopiro: Perak’s Friendly Tourism Icon

What made the event even more memorable was the 7th birthday of Kopiro, Perak’s official tourism mascot.

Introduced in 2018, Kopiro is a delightful fusion of Ipoh’s famous kopi-O and the Malayan tapir, a nod to the state’s rich natural heritage, including prehistoric cave art at Tambun Cave.

What’s Next for Perak?

Although VPY2024 has concluded, the journey is far from complete. With the theme #PromisingPerak still echoing across the tourism scene, Tourism Perak is already planning ahead for Visit Malaysia Year 2026. Syabas, Perak!

Efforts are now focused on long-term strategies; enhancing tourism products, strengthening the brand, and building even more strategic partnerships to ensure Perak remains a go-to destination in Malaysia.
