Tourism practitioners and supporters in Perak were treated to a scrumptious buffet dinner at Symphony Suites Hotel on Sunday evening. The event was hosted by Tourism Perak Management Berhad, under the portfolio of Perak State ExCo for Tourism, Arts, Culture, Multimedia and Communications, Dato’ Nolee Ashilin Mohammed Radzi.
Among the valued guests were tourism product owners, tourism-related non-governmental organisations and members of the media.
According to Dato’ Nolee, tourism is the third economic contributor to Malaysia and it could not be as successful without the full effort of everyone involved in the industry, from government agencies to private sectors and the continued coverage provided by the media.
Dato’ Nolee also assured stakeholders in Perak that the state government will forward all their concerns to the Federal Government regarding the implementation of the new Tourism Tax. “The state has no objection to the tax but it is going to be a challenge to see that it is well implemented and that the revenue collected will be channelled fairly to all levels of the tourism sector in the state,” she added.
Joining in the merry occasion were some forty Rohingya children and their guardians, from the Rohingya Society in Malaysia (Perak). This NGO, based in Ipoh, provides services to refugees from the Rohingya community.
All the delighted guests received Hari Raya hampers or goody bags, thanks to Tourism Perak Management Berhad. Thank you!
