Special Award for the Ipoh City Council
A special award was bestowed upon the Ipoh City Council (Majlis Bandaraya Ipoh – MBI) yesterday, 26th July, for being one of the most helpful government departments or non-governmental organisations (NGOs) in conducting a blood donation campaign during the COVID-19 Movement Control Order (MCO).
The appreciation ceremony was held in Taiping in conjunction with the Perak state-level World Blood Donor Day (WBDD), which is observed worldwide on 14th June annually.
Tuan Haji Musa Dun (MBI Senior Director of Service & Operations) represented MBI in receiving the award from the Deputy Minister of Health Malaysia YB Dato’ Dr Haji Noor Azmi Bin Ghazali.
Tuan Haji Musa expressed gratitude for the unexpected accolade, and hoped that this award will be a catalyst for the city council to continue collaborating with the Blood Bank to help shore up blood stocks in order to save lives.
“MBI will continue to assist any government agency in Ipoh City and even within the state of Perak, to carry out similar noble efforts in the future.
“We hope the younger generation and regular blood donors will continue to carry out their responsibility and become model citizens,” he added.
At the ceremony held at the Taiping Municipal Council Hall yesterday, 64 blood donors also received their appreciation certificate.
That is really good news indeed. Kudos to MBI!
