Social Distancing Observed By Ipohites
According to statistics, Perak has one of the highest rate of compliance of the Movement Control Order (MCO), which was activated by the Malaysian National Security Council (NSC) on 18th March, 2020, in a move to prevent the further spread of the COVID-19 virus. Yesterday, we received news that the 14-day MOC has been extended until 14th April.
The level of awareness of what we should do during MCO and the commitment displayed by Ipohites have been exemplary, as seen from the above photo depicting market shoppers yesterday morning.
This orderly manner with social distancing of at least one metre apart was observed at several wet markets in Tanjung Rambutan, Gunung Rapat, Pasir Pinji, Bercham, Buntong, as well as Central Market, which are all under the authority of the Ipoh City Council (Majlis Bandaraya Ipoh).
Hopefully, the cooperation of the community, and all residents in Malaysia as a whole, can manage to control the spread of COVID-19 that is currently overwhelming the world.
