Singapore – Ipoh Daily Flights to Increase From 4 to 6 for Visit Perak Year 2024

This exciting news was announced by Ipoh City Mayor Y.Bhg. Dato’ Rumaizi bin Baharin@Md Daud during an informal sharing session among tourism stakeholders in Ipoh at Chiang Jiang White Coffee @ People’s Park this afternoon.

Currently, there are two daily flights from Singapore to Ipoh by Scoot, plus two by Air Asia, making Singaporeans the top foreign visitors to Ipoh. This number is expected to further increase with two additional daily Scoot flights next year to support the state’s Visit Perak Year 2024 campaign.

Both Scoot and Air Asia use the Airbus 320 aircraft for flights from Singapore to Ipoh. It has a maximum passenger capacity of 182 pax. With a conservative estimate of 85% occupancy rate per flight, Ipoh will see a daily increase of 300 passengers from Singapore, rising from 600+ to 900+.

From January to August this year, Ipoh has already welcomed over a hundred thousand foreign visitors who spent at least one night in the city, with Singaporeans leading the numbers, closely followed by Indonesians. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, Ipoh received an average of only 5,000 foreign guests per year.

This inaugural Tourism Teh Tarik Session to prepare for Visit Perak Year 2024, organised by Pior Adventure under the leadership of Encik Hisham Yusof, provided a platform for local tourism stakeholders to exchange views, update one another on their new tourism products, and offer valuable ground feedback to The Right Honourable Mayor.

Among the attendees, despite the heavy downpour, were Perak Tourism Association (PTA) President Datuk Hj. Mohd.
