During a press conference yesterday, The Haven All Suite Resort CEO Mr Peter Chan shared his vision and aspirations for this exquisite event that is supported by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC) and the Perak state government through Tourism Perak.
“It’s been five long months of planning and preparation. Everything is falling into place nicely and we are ready to host this weekend escape as a celebration of a return to travel, following a lengthy hiatus from the pandemic. Inspired by the annual Rainforest World Music Festival (RWMF) in Sarawak, we believe that The Haven Musical Extravaganza has the potential to be a most attractive yearly event and a significant attraction for Perak. Let this be a catalyst for many more events that will promote Ipoh as the City of Limestone, Music and Arts.”
Ipoh City Mayor Y.Bhg. Dato’ Rumaizi bin Baharin@Md Daud applauded The Haven’s efforts in drawing tourists to Ipoh, creating greater awareness internationally. “Since opening its doors in 2011, The Haven has hosted 60,000 foreign guests from more than 45 countries. The Haven Musical Extravaganza is a creative contribution in line with our vision to turn Ipoh City into the Hollywood or Bollywood equivalent of Malaysia, as Perak has officially earmarked Ipoh as the City of Limestone, Music and Arts for Asia. Tourism Perak CEO Puan Nurmalis bt. Musa, who graced the press conference, agreed that the luxurious event is worthy to be featured on the state’s annual Calendar of Events. “Let’s see how it goes for this inaugural event and we will then explore ways to further support this initiative of music and gastronomy, together with MOTAC, as we forge ahead for Visit Perak Year 2024 and Visit Malaysia Year 2025, after Visit Ipoh Year 2023,” she added.
