In her speech, Y.B. Datuk Heng Seai Kie, outlined the many programmes and schemes available for single mothers to upgrade their livelihood. She also urged corporations to draw up activities for single families, as part of their Corporation Social Responsibility (CSR) programme.
Guests were then feted to a scrumptious halal lunch. It began with the tossing of ‘yee sang’, which signifies an increase of prosperity, abundance and vigour in the coming year. The three-hour long event wrapped up with entertainment provided by students from Top Starz Music Academy.
