Preview: Miss Perak Tourism 2015
The winner of Miss Perak Tourism 2015 will take home with her RM6,000 cash, a 4D/3N trip for two to Seoul, Korea (sponsored by Ho Wah Genting Sdn. Bhd.), a pearl solitaire necklace worth RM20,000 (sponsored by Bintang Galleria Sdn. Bhd.), skincare and hair products and many other gifts, this Saturday when the Queen is crowned.
As a run-up to the final, members of the press were given a preview of the sixteen finalists in the pageant. The ladies had for the past week, undergone intensive grooming sessions which included fashion sense and public speaking to build their confidence.
This search for Miss Perak Tourism 2015, where the winner will by default be the tourism ambassador for Perak, is not an ordinary “beauty” pageant.
Besides the quest to look for beauty, grace and intelligence, Miss Tourism has always been about the promotion of tourism, culture and friendship.
As such, on the final night, these contestants will be required to don batik wear, designer clothes and evening gown for three rounds of parade.
Apart from the top three winners, there are fourteen subsidiary titles up for grabs, from Miss Popularity to Miss Friendship, Best in Talent and more.
Guest-of-honour on the final night will be Perak State Exco for Health, Tourism and Culture Y.B. Dato’ Nolee Ashilin Mohd. Radzi, who has pledged to include Miss Perak Tourism in the state’s annual calendar of events.
The top two winners of this state-level pageant will proceed to the national level come September, 2015 in Kuala Lumpur to vie for the Miss Malaysia Tourism title, whereby the eventual winner will represent the country at the world stage to be hosted in Vietnam sometime in November, 2015.
