Mr and Ms Confident Young Role Model Search

21 boys and girls aged 6 to 15 showcased their grace and self-assurance as they confidently strutted the runway during the Mr and Ms Confident Young Role Search on Sunday, 14th May 2023.

At just 10 years old, Kimberly Ng proved to be a remarkable talent. Not only did she secure the Ms Confident title for the 6 to 10 years old category, winning RM1,000 in cash and prizes, but she also received the Popularity and Most Talented Awards.

Hailing from Perak, this young performer has a wealth of experience, actively participating in various competitions both within and outside of school, and garnering numerous accolades along the way. Among her accomplishments, she emerged as the champion of the Malaysian Kids Got Talent Season 4 in 2020, triumphed in the Perak School Sports Council Rhythmic Gymnastics Tournament for ball, and excelled in several national and international dance competitions. Kimberly has also been recognised for her academic excellence, earning the titles of Best Performing and Outstanding Student in her grade for the 2021/2022 academic year. Additionally, she holds esteemed positions as the School Prefect Representative for Standard 4, plus President of the Badminton Club.

Reflecting on her victory, Kimberly shared, “I believe I am deserving of this title because I have a proven track record of achieving my goals and embracing new challenges with a positive and determined mindset. Whether it’s tackling a difficult task at school or pursuing a new hobby outside of my comfort zone, I always approach new experiences with confidence and optimism.”

In the 11 to 15 years old category, Tania Qasandra Bt Abdullah, aged 13, was crowned Ms Confident. She drew inspiration and encouragement from her family, which has a long-standing tradition of involvement in pageantry.

“Growing up in a family immersed in pageantry, I’ve come to realise that talent runs in my blood. I’ve always found joy in participating in various talent and sports competitions, and I’m proud to say that I am fluent in three languages – Malay, English, and Chinese. My aunt once told me that confidence is the key to success, and I truly believe in that. That’s why I am thrilled to embark on my journey as a contestant in Ipoh Parade’s Ms Confident 2023. Through this experience, I aspire to inspire others, showing them that with confidence, anything is possible,” said Tania, who also claimed the Popularity Award at the same competition.

In the Mr Confident category, the title was awarded to Carson Kiu Wen Le, an impressive 6-year-old from Penang, who recently secured the Oriental Prince Penang 2023 title.

The Ipoh Parade Mr & Ms Confident: Young Role Model Search, organised by Ipoh Parade Shopping Mall and powered by Glitzz Entertainment & EP Marketing Malaysia, is a talent pageant dedicated to acknowledging and celebrating remarkable young individuals.

Lim Huey Tyng, Manager for the Advertising & Promotions Department at Ipoh Parade, expressed, “This event serves as a celebration of our future leaders and a platform to showcase the confidence we have in them. We are delighted to support and recognise these young individuals who have demonstrated excellence, leadership, and admirable character.”

The panel of judges for the pageant included esteemed individuals such as Emma Chung, ambassador of Cultural Queen Of SouthEast Asia; Jomenis Loh, winner of Cultural Queen of SouthEast Asia; Agnes Liew, Ambassador of Faces Of SouthEast Asia; Datin Jan Ng, ambassador of Cultural Queen Of South East Asia; Bboy Xian from Rejuvenate Dance Crew, alongside Collien from Glitzz Event Management.
