Wow, the title of this event is so long, I have difficulty arranging the words in the right sequence. LOL Jokes aside, disability is a serious issue and BAKTI (Badan Amal Dan Kebajikan Tenaga Isteri-Isteri The Association of Wives of Ministers and Deputy Ministers) tries to turn lives around for disabled children in the country by creating various opportunities for them.

At the launch of “Kempen Intervensi Awal Mencegah Berlakunya Kecacatan Kepada Kanak-Kanak” in Ipoh this morning, we were treated to an amazing performance of the 1Malaysia theme song by children of various ages and disabilities. This shows that even if a child is disabled, he or she is still capable. Disabled children just need more time, proper guidance and patience to nurture.

Indeed, prevention is better than cure, as the saying goes. One of the major mistakes that parents make that could cause learning disability is the failure to bring down a child’s fever quickly enough. The solution is easy; just apply an icepack on the forehead of the child. It’s temporary but it’s effective.
