Kelab Bakti Gunung Keledang with Datuk (Dr) M. Nasir Charity Gala
Majlis Makan Malam Amal Nusantara, organised by Kelab Bakti Gunung Keledang (KBGK) in collaboration with Majlis Bandaraya Ipoh (MBI), was honoured by the royal presence of DYMM Paduka Seri Sultan Perak Darul Ridzuan, Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah, and DYMM Raja Permaisuri Perak Darul Ridzuan, Tuanku Zara Salim.
Their Majesties were warmly received by Perak Menteri Besar YAB Dato’ Seri Saarani bin Mohamad, along with his spouse YABhg. Datin Seri Aezer binti Zubir.
Also present at the event were Speaker of the Perak State Legislative Assembly YB Dato’ Mohamad Zahir bin Abd Khalid; State Secretary of Perak Darul Ridzuan YB Dato’ Ahmad Suaidi bin Abd Rahim; Orang Kaya Bendahara Seri Maharaja General (Rtd) Dato’ Seri Diraja Tan Sri Mohd Zahidi bin Zainuddin, and Ipoh Mayor Y.Bhg. Tuan Zamakhshari bin Hanipah, among other dignitaries, reflecting the importance and far-reaching impact of the occasion.
Supporting Those Who Need It Most
The charity dinner was more than a formal event. It was a heartfelt mission to raise funds to run welfare initiatives throughout the year for Yayasan Bakti Gunung Keledang.
As shared by the KBGK President Tuan Cllr. Muhammad Hamzah bin Md Hamdan, who is also an Ipoh City Councillor, the event also aimed to complement the state’s efforts in promoting TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training) programmes to empower youth with practical skills.
In line with this mission, RM150,000 was channelled to 10 selected organisations, including orphanages, educational funds for underprivileged students, homes for the disabled (OKU), and tahfiz centres. These contributions will go a long way in supporting meaningful causes across the state.
Forging Stronger Ties Through Strategic Partnerships
Another key highlight of the night was the signing of several Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) between KBGK and reputable institutions, including the Ipoh City Council, Jabatan Kemajuan Masyarakat (KEMAS), Universiti Sultan Azlan Shah (USAS) and Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM).
These partnerships signify a collaborative approach to building stronger, more resilient communities.
A Captivating Musical Finale with Datuk (Dr) M. Nasir
The gala dinner closed on a magical note with a performance by the legendary Datuk (Dr) M. Nasir, who delivered seven soul-stirring songs.
From Semerah Padi to Bonda and Satu Hari Di Hari Raya, each piece resonated deeply with the audience, reminding everyone of the power of art in uniting people and uplifting spirits.
A Milestone Achievement for a Noble Cause
With 140 tables sold, the event successfully raised RM700,000, a true testament to the community’s generosity and shared vision for a better tomorrow.
